1. Overview

OCR Note ("the App") respects your privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

2. Information We Process

The App processes the following information:

• Camera images: Used temporarily for OCR processing when scanning documents. Images are not stored.
• Gallery images: Used to extract text from photos you select.
• Note data: Data you enter (wrong answers, bookmarks, sentences, household ledger, etc.) is stored only in the on-device SQLite database.
• OCR processing: Images are sent to the OpenAI API for text recognition. OpenAI does not retain this data after processing.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• Personal identifiers such as name, email, or phone number
• Location data
• Device unique identifiers
• Advertising identifiers

4. Permissions

• Camera: For real-time capture of documents and receipts for scanning
• Photo Library: To extract text from existing photos

Permissions are requested only when the relevant feature is used. Denying a permission does not affect the use of other features.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API: For OCR text recognition. Images are transmitted solely for processing purposes and are subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob: For displaying ads (free version). Advertising identifiers and device information may be collected in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Security

All user data is stored in an on-device SQLite database and is never transmitted or shared externally. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all data from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, you will be notified via an App update or through this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
